His vision is to create the second Japanese haute couture brand after the renowned Hanae Mori. By applying the tailoring methodology he mastered at top maisons in Britain, Italy, and France and by using traditional Japanese craft materials in his contemporary-designed apparel, Takamatsu hopes to fuse the universal appeal of haute couture with Japan’s evolving heritage.

  • Artist's Story

    Couture Designer / Tailor

    Born in Fukuoka City, Taichiro Takamatsu trained in tailoring at Gieves & Hawkes in London before working for ERIMATSUI Japan’s bridal division, PRADA, and the Sartoria team at Dolce & Gabbana.

    He has tailored official suits for AC MILAN and bespoke pieces for members of the Saudi Arabian royal family. In 2018 he joined Christian Dior Couture’s haute couture division, overseeing tailoring for Japan and Hong Kong, and since going independent in 2022‒23 he designs and produces bespoke garments for clients in Japan and abroad.
