WEB DESIGN GUIDEBOOK
- If requested, I can do an online Zoom teaching lesson for Keiko, others.
- Don't crop images.
Send the originals to the web master, and let the web master do the cropping. When you crop images, you create lots of extra work for the web master. Send the originals to the web master.
- Give descriptive names to all photos.
When you share photos with the web master, please name them properly. Examples:
Kenta-HIRAI-profile-photo.jpg or
Tohru-TSUJI-main-title-photo.jpg. This will become extremely important as the site grows larger and larger and the web master searches for specific images by specific artists. It is also extremely important for Google Searches and Google Indexing.
- GALLERY TOP PAGE. To get five images in one row required some "hacking" by me. When you make the Gallery pages for 2022 Winners and 2023 Winners and beyond, please follow the below procedure.
- Start by creating a Duplicate Page (a copy) of the Gallery
- Practice on the Duplicate Gallery page
- Images must be prepared in advance in a graphics program (e.g., Adobe, Corel)
- Images must be "resized" to exactly 1108 x 1463 pixels
- Once you do that, add the resized images to Duplicate Gallery Page.
5.
Never give a "naked" email address. Always create a Contact Form.
6.
White space & emptiness are your friends. Don't design pages to fill entire screen.
Use "full row bleed" sparingly. JC21's official site is way too big in my mind.
You must scroll down and down and down to view the full page. It is unprintable.
7. With Duda.co, you can copy entire rows and columns and paste into any other page.
8. Always create a "duplicate" page & practice on it first before making major changes.
9. Always confirm how pages display on desktops, laptops, smartphones. Fix issues.
Do they print OK? Duda.co is NOT very good when it comes to "printable pages."
