  • Artist's Story

    An apparel designer, Akashi is seeking to launch the IMAYO brand of clothing for contemporary lifestyles using traditionally made Japanese textiles that capture the warmth and heart of time-honored craftsmanship. 


    Where domestic clothing production is currently at an all-time low of 2%, his work will ensure the survival of centuries-old textile processes in local communities throughout Japan and encourage rural revitalization.
